Malunggay/Moringa Oleifera/Horse Radish Tree
Here in the Philippines the Malunggay or Moringa Oleifera is one of the usual delicacy that we be bring in our dining table but unknown to us all, it has a lot more that it can do besides from being a side dish. From leaves to root, the Malunggay tree has many beneficial things that it can give to us. It can help us cure or prevent certain diseases. Malunggay is always being fed to breastfeeding mothers to help them produce more milk for their toddlers. More benefits of malunggay are:
· Prevents constipation (malunggay leaves has lots of fibers).
· It has vitamin C that prevents scurvy.
· Helps in de-worming or removing parasites.
· It has also calcium to strengthen bones.
· It can help normalize the blood pressure and sugar level.
· Has also potassium that helps in dehydration.
· Contains protein for muscle growth and repair.
· It has phytochemicals like what found in pineapples to help prevent cancer.
There are Malunggay supplements capsules that can be bought as an alternative when there aren’t any available malunggay trees in your place. Some claim that these are much more effective than the fresh pick malunggay leaves because they are in their purest form but I wonder which is better, the fresh one or the one that is artificially made.
