Presumably,
it is the desire of every graduate that they will land to a decent job
immediately after their graduation. Consequently, no one likes to be part of
the statistics of the accumulating numbers of unemployed graduates. For those
graduates that require the passing of their respective licensure exam for them
to practice their profession, it is their dream to pass the same for them to
have a job that requires their profession and expertise.
For
those who graduated with a degree that do not need or requires the taking of the
licensure examinations, they may opt to take the Career Service Examination
duly administered by the Civil Service Commission if they wanted to enter
government service or wants to be employed to the government. Passing the said
Career Service Examination for Sub-Professional Level and Professional Level,
respectively, makes them eligible to be employed to the government and the
latter is also important to those government employees who seek promotion.
Even
if you are still a college undergraduate but you already earned 72 units, you
are already qualified to take the examination. When I was in 3rd
year college, I already took the Sub-Professional Level and luckily, I passed
the same having garnered a rating of 90%. After my graduation, I took again the
Professional Level and I successfully hurdle the same having a rating of 81%
which is a point higher than the passing rate. It’s just enough to pass the
said exam.
I
learned many lessons after I undergo the aforesaid examinations. Now, I am
employed to the government specifically in city court in our locality. As an
examinee of those examinations, these are the simple tips I can offer to those
future examinees of career service examinations for them to pass the same and
these tips are lifted from my own experience.
1. Ask the guidance and blessing of the Divine Providence.
In Him and only Him
has the power to grant the desires of our hearts. However, it is not proper
that you only pray when we need His help. We must talk to Him always and ask
Him to intervene in everything we do and grant us the wisdom and understanding
so that we will perfectly finish the exam.
2. Help yourself also.
It is
not enough that you pray. God has mercy to those who help themselves.
3. Invest your resources.
If you
are desirous to pass the examination, you must invest your resources and
efforts to find, borrow or buy the reviewing materials that may help you to
pass the exam. There are reviewers that are being sold in the bookstores.
4. Prepare for the battle.
Review and
if needed, surf the internet pertaining the environmental laws, employees’
ethics, Philippine Constitution, general knowledge, rules of grammar and other
as these are some the coverage of the examinations.
Few days
before the exam, prepare all the things you needed during the exam and place
them all in one bag so that on the day of exam, you only have to do is to pick
the bag containing your testing kit. This is important because it saves your
time and you will not be late in going to the testing area.
Likewise, you visit
the designated testing area a day before the scheduled exam so that during the
examination day, you will not be worrying in looking for your designated room specially so if you are not familiar with
the location of the designated testing area.
5. Arrive at the testing area 30 minutes – one
hour before the scheduled testing time.
When you arrive to your designated testing room, the proctor will still require you to fill up some important documents for documentation purposes. The remaining time of waiting is your chance to settle your mood, eliminate your nervousness, refresh your mind and recapitulate what you have reviewed.

6. Be confident.
Answer
your questionnaire confidently. If you are not sure of your answer, trust your
first instinct. If you do not know the answer, do not leave it blank, just make
a “good guess” which is base on your instinct but do not do that always.
Remember, do not
leave an item unanswered because that is factor that you may not pass the exam.
Do not rush in answering your questionnaires, besides you have 3 hours to
finish the same.
7. Avoid unnecessary markings in your answer
sheet and do not lean on it to avoid dirt.
I hope
these tips will help you.
